There isn't a specific guide for setting a static IP address, but depending on your HiveManager Platform, you would want to follow these steps:

HiveManager Classic (myhive.aerohive.com): Monitor> Check the box next to the AP> Modify> Expand MGT0 Interface Settings> Click on the Static IP option> Enter the IP, Subnet, and Default gateway> Save> Push this out to the AP.

HiveManager (formerly NG, cloud.aerohive.com): Monitor> Click on the host name of the device> Device Configuration (left hand side menu under Configuration)> Under the Management Interface (Mgt0) section, select Static Address and enter the IP Address, Subnet mask, and Default gateway. Push this out to the AP.

HOW do I set up that specific configuration in HM? Can you please point me to the appropriate documentation article?

You would leave that address out of the pool, and assign the IP address to the device via device specific configuration in HiveManager so it knows to ask for that address only. Or you might want to use a DHCP server as those will have more advanced DHCP options and features than our Routers.

So how do you reserve a specific IP address for a specific MAC address so that when the device connects to the network, it will always be assigned that IP address?

We can exclude IP addresses from the pool that you have made from being handed out to clients. You would include those addresses in the pool, in Configuration> Open the network policy> go to the Router Settings> Network Allocation> Open a network that is going to host the DHCP server> enable DHCP in the Advanced settings of this network, then exclude addresses at the start or end of the pool you set up. We aren't reserving it for a specific MAC address per say, but we are making sure that address is available and not assigned to a client supported by this DHCP server automatically. Is that what you were looking for?
