Iphone 17 failed to connect Guest Wi-FI

iPhone 17 fails to connect to the guest Wi-Fi (PSK)when it comes within range of an AP250, but it connects without any issues when it is within range of an AP410C. what could be the problem if anyone know this. I have manually set similar working AP (AP410C)channel and channel width to non working but no luck. only iPhone 17 fails and iPhone 15, 16 works.

It seems that the iPhone 17's Wi-Fi stack and the AP250 firmware don't work well together, not the channel settings. The AP250 probably can't handle newer Wi-Fi features (like WPA3 transition, PMF, or certain 802.11ax/11be behaviors) as well as the iPhone 17 does because other iPhones connect fine and the AP410C works fine. Usually, the best way to fix it is to update the AP250 firmware or change the security settings (for example, by turning off WPA3 transition mode or changing the PMF requirements).

Hey Jaseemtt,

Could you share some screenshots of the current SSID settings for both APs?

This sounds more like a compatibility or roaming issue between the iPhone 17 Wi-Fi chipset and the AP250 firmware/security handling rather than a simple channel problem. Since the iPhone 15 and 16 connect normally, I’d first check WPA settings, 802.11r/k/v roaming features, PMF (Protected Management Frames), and whether the AP250 is running the latest firmware because newer iPhones can be stricter with authentication behavior. I had a somewhat similar issue in a gaming/modding setup where network restrictions affected content syncing for avatar world mod ios, and updating AP security compatibility settings fixed random connection failures on newer devices.
