FN-2024-505 - ExtremeCloud IQ - Site Engine (XIQ-SE) 24.7.10 Firmware Archive File Misplacement

Summary
As part of the migration to XIQ-SE 24.7 firmware image files are automatically moved from the source 24.2 filesystem to the new 24.7 filesystem. The files are placed in the wrong location for TFTP and SCP/SFTP and can lead to firmware image upgrade failures and database record duplication.

Impact
This issue only impacts migrations from 24.2 to 24.7.10.52. It does not impact new 24.7 based deployments or migrations to 24.7.11.22 and above.

Symptoms
The firmware images will be misplaced in a nested duplicate images/images sub-directory in the TFTP and SCP/SFTP file system sub-directories. The usual locations are:

/tftpboot/firmware/images
/root/firmware/images
/home/netsight/images

Workaround
Refer to Extreme Networks GTAC KB article here

Solution
This issue has been resolved in XIQ-SE 24.7.11.22 release. Extreme Networks recommends using this release for all new migrations from XIQ-SE 24.2 to 24.7.11 to avoid this issue.

Hello Sam,

Does this mean I can upgrade from XIQ-SE ver 24.2.15.5 using ExtremeCloudIQSiteEngine_24.7.11.22_64bit_install.bin like a regular upgrade or do I still need to do a fresh install of 24.7.11 and run the migration wizard?

Thanks,
