Using Extreme Analytics to export Netflow of IPfix to Faddom application

Using Extreme Analytics to export Netflow of IPfix to Faddom application

Hi all,

we are trying to export netflow or ipfix streams to a application called Faddom. I the config of Analytics we put in the ip address of the Faddom server and netflow or ipfix receiver port number, but we don't see any traffic in the application. Also it looks there is no traffic between the Analytics server and the Faddom server, are there any log's for looking at errors with the export of Analytics ?

Do we have to more than only give the ip, port number and enforce the config ?

thans in advanced for the answers !!!

kind regards

Zdenek,

Probably something on the server was stopt working, because after a reboot the traffic flow was seen in the tcpdump and on the server. Thx for the help !!

Hi Mark,

we have similar integration documented here: https://emc.extremenetworks.com/content/oneview/docs/analytics/docs/pur_elk.htm#Part2Configuringeach...

On the Site Engine you need to:

  • Set Export IP address
  • Set Export Port
  • Set Protocol to either IPFIX or IPFIX and Metadata.
  • Enforce the changes.

I suggest checking with tcpdump if the analytics engine tries contacting your server. can be IPv4 vs IPv6 issue, can be DNS issue, can be firewall issue. once you see that data are going out then you can play with format and metadata.

Sincerely yours

Hi Zdenek,

thans for the answer !!

tried to see the traffic with tcmdump. i see a lot of traffic but no traffic to the server configured in the analytics engine. So its looks like some config error. Is enforce sufficed or do I need to restart the engine ?
