The ExtremeCloud™ IQ classic UI will be retired Q4 calendar year 2026. The new UI has been available  since July 2025 to ensure customers have ample time to become comfortable before the classic UI is retired.

We will be transitioning from the classic UI to our modernized new UI which will become the default interface for all ExtremeCloud IQ customers in July 2026. The classic UI will be officially retired in Q4 2026 (before December 31, 2026)

Why is This Transition Needed?

  • ExtremeCloud IQ classic is based on legacy architecture
  • No new features are being added in ExtremeCloud IQ classic
  • All features / capabilities are developed in ExtremeCloud IQ new UI and Extreme Platform ONE

Seamless Transition to ExtremeCloud IQ new

  • Customers will have a new UI and UX to manage their networks with ExtremeCloud IQ new
  • There will be NO IMPACT to customers data / networks / logs / devices
  • Customers will continue to manage and monitor their network as they have been doing prior to the upgrade

What’s Changing

  • ExtremeCloud IQ is transitioning from the classic UI to the new UI experience.
  • This is a user interface update only. The underlying platform, configurations, policies, and data remain unchanged.
  • There are specific features that will not be available in ExtremeCloud IQ’s new user interface based on customer usage or were not working in prior releases
  • There are specific 3rd party switches that will no longer be supported with ExtremeCloud IQ’s new user interface

What’s Not Changing

  • No impact to network operations
  • Same URL and login credentials
  • No configuration, policy, or data loss
  • No licensing or entitlement changes

Oh, the other item I wanted to mention: when updating devices (either firmware or configuration), it sure would be nice to have an indicator of that progress in the network devices view like the classic interface has. And to be able to do both a firmware AND a config update at the same time (the way it seems to be setup now is that you can do one or the other, but not explicitly both. In classic, I can do a complete config update along with a firmware update).

@CalvinRempel Just because EP1 accepts that DFS setting doesnt mean it actually took!  I had that happen with a Transmission power setting...  no pop up or "error" on the screen when applied, but when I CLI'd into the AP, the setting had not been applied, it had the old setting (and yup I did a full config push).

Maybe see if there is a CLI command you can run against the AP to verify that.

Is there any way to filter by Building or is there plans to implement that ability?

Also is there a way to see LLDP information for wireless access points? We need this for 2 reasons.

1. When APs go do we can use this information to see the switch port they are connected to and run a script to remotely reboot them by removing power to the port for a minute.

2. We also pull a report of which AP is connected to each switch port when upgrading APs so we know how to rename the replacement.

When viewing devices is there a way to filter to only show disconnected devices?

If I go to Network Devices - Wireless - and filter by Uplink it just fails and says "Something went Wrong". Is there a way to get this to work?

For planned features that are listed in the comparison list between the old and new XIQ, what are the expected release dates.  I am specifically seeking information on packet capture and Location Essentials.  Please let me know as soon as possible.  Thanks.

@WW Sadly LLDP isnt within EP1, it is in XIQ Classic though... sigh...

@WW You can view disconnected devices by going to Dashboard clicking on Wired or Wireless and then it will filter on disconnected devices within Network Devices.  It would make sense for the filter to be added to Network Devices in the future as well

Adding to the frustration here is that we've gotten absolutely no response from Extreme. @SamPirok , can we please get some responses to the issues that have been brought up in this thread?

@rogerwcsd My bet is that its not us waiting on @SamPirok but them waiting on some clarity either from the development teams or some management people.  If I think i know how the internal development team works - dysfunctional in the past, I doubt thats changed - , there is a  lot of contradictory info, in-fighting and mis-information flying about.

Different management teams telling developers what they want, start of the contradictions, different departments within development, No agreement between anyone on what needs to happen and in what direction..

Yeah I think internally, its a sh1t show, and from what I know of @SamPirok they rather not post something thats not accurate - dev team already threw them under the bus with the original post  remember -  and no one internally is giving them the same answers, and so no updates.

@sfolk o........k....... You correct me on that!!.. Sam never has...and I dont know you from a crack in the ground...........wow.... I bet you are "fun" to work with, and can only hope you are not in a management position.

Ill do a new post inside here, but I found a bug when editing a radio profile  - I was digging in ng0 for an AP1130-.  It doesn't clear the 4th channel option after selecting Europe and then going back to USA (which only allows 3).
