The ExtremeCloud™ IQ classic UI will be retired Q4 calendar year 2026. The new UI has been available  since July 2025 to ensure customers have ample time to become comfortable before the classic UI is retired.

We will be transitioning from the classic UI to our modernized new UI which will become the default interface for all ExtremeCloud IQ customers in July 2026. The classic UI will be officially retired in Q4 2026 (before December 31, 2026)

Why is This Transition Needed?

  • ExtremeCloud IQ classic is based on legacy architecture
  • No new features are being added in ExtremeCloud IQ classic
  • All features / capabilities are developed in ExtremeCloud IQ new UI and Extreme Platform ONE

Seamless Transition to ExtremeCloud IQ new

  • Customers will have a new UI and UX to manage their networks with ExtremeCloud IQ new
  • There will be NO IMPACT to customers data / networks / logs / devices
  • Customers will continue to manage and monitor their network as they have been doing prior to the upgrade

What’s Changing

  • ExtremeCloud IQ is transitioning from the classic UI to the new UI experience.
  • This is a user interface update only. The underlying platform, configurations, policies, and data remain unchanged.
  • There are specific features that will not be available in ExtremeCloud IQ’s new user interface based on customer usage or were not working in prior releases
  • There are specific 3rd party switches that will no longer be supported with ExtremeCloud IQ’s new user interface

What’s Not Changing

  • No impact to network operations
  • Same URL and login credentials
  • No configuration, policy, or data loss
  • No licensing or entitlement changes

Here is the bug with channels within a Radio profile - in this case Ng0 -:

Start with USA and it shows only 3 channels are available:

USA - 3 Channel.png

Select Europe, which allows 4 channels, and you see option for 3 and 4 channels.  I clicked on 4 channels:

Euro - 4 Channel.png

Then back to the country selection, I select USA, and sure enough I have 4 channels as available:

USA - 4 Channel.png

This I sort of stumbled upon, but for those that use lots of Radio Profile (I use a fair amount) and manage cross country Tenants, this could be an issue. Then again it may not affect anyone or anything, but still.  Improper coding is exactly that, and can have real world repercussions. I'm hoping this is just a visual bug for those that manage US and Euro Tenants for your customers.

@WG22 Thanks, I was able to see the number of disconnected devices from the dashboard and pull them up. The only problem is the number of down APs is correct, but when I view which ones are down it also pulls in all the new APs that aren't connected yet. Do you know if there is a way to filter out new devices that I haven't deployed yet?

@WW @WG22 Thanks, thats helpful, especially when I restart an AP.  BUT, I am going to really miss that rebooting progress bar! While it may have only been a timer within the browser and XIQ interface, it gave me an idea how long to expect the AP to be down (even when it would crap out).

Same thing - sort of - when doing a firmware update, although if quick enough you can click on the "view" button within the banner that pops up after initiating the FW Update and see its progress.

Taking away progress bars from rebooting though, thats harsh.  I wonder what we get, or dont get when setting an AP "back to template defaults"?!   Has anyone done that within EP1/XIQ New ? and what happens?

Not to say I told yah so... in regard to API's, but this popped up yesterday about "legacy" API's being "turned off" - and note the timing is a bit coincidental -:

https://community.extremenetworks.com/t5/extremecloud-iq-xiq/fn-2026-526-end-of-life-legacy-aerohive...

And this blurb:

"Continuing to operate the legacy gateway blocks platform consolidation, complicates security and rate-limiting governance, and prevents customers from receiving the feature richness, performance, and support guarantees of the modern APIs."

That tells me that they may have painted themselves into a corner with New and EP1, and the only way forward is to kill the old API's.  I'm pretty sure Classic uses all those API's, and lets face it, most of us can work well with Classic which obviously relied on them.  I think they created brand new API's for the newer platforms, didnt attempt to migrate - not even replicate - the old ones to the new platforms, and thats why we have all these issues in New and EP1.  Its a best guess, but to me, it explains a lot.

@WW  The only way I think of at the moment is to put all APs that arent connected in one site ie Provisioning etc then you can remove\untick the site when viewing in Network Devices.  As Sam mentioned additional filtering capabilities are expected to be available soon so this should take care of this for this future ie a disconnected filter

@DeVoIDIf you click the 3 dots top next to Upgrade Firmware in Network Devices you will see the progress for upgrades  named Firmware Upgrade History which you can view real-time and historically.

@WG22 Thanks... appreciated.  I just made sure to click on the "view" button before it left and its the same place you describe....  Nice I can get to it from what you describe.  Now if they could have a progress bar for restarting AP's, that would be kinda great... instead of running a ping command with -t on it....

Oh but get this.  I did a firmware update that EP1 said failed!!! it didnt fail... XIQ showed it didnt fail, and back in EP1 - after a refresh -  that showed it had installed (by device not history).  But in that history page, it showed failed.  No way to clear that history, and the only selectable is "retry update"...... So i HAVE to try a retry just to clear that? want to bet it actually does install that firmware over the top of the one that was successful?  all this just to clear that history up!  <so over this>
