UPDATED: July 2026

The ExtremeCloud™ IQ classic UI will be retired in Q2 calendar year 2027.  The new UI has been available since July 2025 to ensure customers have ample time to become comfortable before the classic UI is retired.

We will be transitioning from the classic UI to our modernized new UI which will become the default interface for all ExtremeCloud IQ customers. The final operational date for the classic UI is yet to be confirmed and will be communicated closer to the transition period.

Currently administrators are presented with the classic UI when initially logging into ExtremeCloud IQ. Beginning in November 2026, by default customers will be presented with the new UI but will have the option to toggle via the 9-dot menu back to the classic UI.

Why is This Transition Needed?

The new UI is built on a next-generation architecture that delivers:

  • Improved performance and stability
  • Streamlined workflows with a modern, and easier to use UI design
  • Enhanced monitoring, troubleshooting, and visibility
  • A scalable foundation aligned with Extreme’s cloud-managed roadmap

Seamless Transition to ExtremeCloud IQ new

  • Customers will have a new UI and UX to manage their networks with ExtremeCloud IQ new
  • There will be NO IMPACT to customers data / networks / logs / devices
  • Customers will continue to manage and monitor their network as they have been doing prior to the upgrade

What are the changes and their impacts?

  • There will be NO IMPACT to existing networks.
  • Same URL and login credentials
  • No licensing or entitlement changes
  • Network configurations, policies, data, permissions, and performance remain
    unchanged
  • Only the UI experience is updated
  • Administrators will manage and monitor their networks exactly as before, but
    now with a modernized interface
  • Existing features in the classic UI that will be retired and replaced by advanced features. These
    include:
    • WiNG Controller Data in Connected Mode
    • A3
    • SR and Dell Switch support
    • XR Routing Support
    • Legacy Entitlement Keys (LEK)

Recently added functionality:

  • The Guest, WIPS, and Location features (formerly known as Essentials)
  • Improved administrator roles and RBAC functionality
  • Manual packet capture
  • Local AP, Controller, and Tunnel Concentrator onboarding and monitoring.
  • ExtremeCloud IQ Site Engine monitoring
  • Enhanced Filtering Options

OK, can someone explain this!!  I had to replace AP1130's with AP4060x's.

Go that all done, and went into the XIQ New interface to check connectivity.  In SEVEN hours with one poor iphone connected to it (for about 10 minutes), that the RX was in GIG's.

Check my math:

That CANT be right.  Are these AP's with their wifi 6 (which we are not using), GPS and AFC just insanely chatty?

Because the above is insane and causing RX errors (when I did 24 hours instead of 7).

Any ideas?  I have 17 of these **** things.  BTW our switches only go to 1Gig so I even set the AP to 1 Gig, thinking that might be the issue... nope, didnt fix anything.

Ideas?  thoughts? anything?

PS: I just checked usage in 9 Minutes and for RX its 149563314 bytes! thats 142 MB's.. and I have a fair chuck of retires on RX still...

I started another proper thread so we can post there on all the weird things we are seeing and experiencing.  I also put a link in there to this thread so it could be referenced.

I think having that not buried within this post was the way to go.  With us wanting to know, and not an announcement from Extreme with us posting under it - if you know what I mean..

The link to that if you want to post to it, is:  https://community.extremenetworks.com/t5/extremewireless-general/extremecloud-iq-ui-transition-what-...

I just found out that this ****ing company let @SamPirok go last Thursday.....................  Sam was the best thing to happen to this company that has become mediocre and not customer focused.

They MADE this community space, they listened to customers, they always did their best, they were honest, and it is Extreme's loss.

Why does it seem that the good people in larger companies seem to always get the shaft, versus those inside the company that barely scrape through the day doing any kind of work? and Im not saying its just this company, it seems to be everywhere.  What happened?

Losing Sam is a big blow to this space.  I wonder if it will even get another person, and if it does, SamPirok will be a very hard act to follow.

Im upset and saddened by this.  I wonder what their reason was?

Oh, that would be a loss. Wish @SamPirok success in his next career move!

That's unfortunate.

She was a great help back to the Aerohive days.

Hi DeVoID@JA and @Jan_Reister,

Thank you for sharing this — we completely understand your frustration. Losing a familiar face you've worked with is never easy, and we truly appreciate the relationship you built with Sam.

While we'll miss Sam too, our Extreme Community team remains fully committed to providing you with the same level of support and engagement you've come to expect. I will be stepping in as the new Community Admin and I very much look forward to building a strong and meaningful relationship with you, just as Sam did.

Thank you for being such a valued member of our community — we're here for you every step of the way.

Hi @Nithisha,

I have been following a question from @SDK (https://community.extremenetworks.com/t5/extremecloud-iq-xiq/extremecloud-iq-ui-transition-what-you-...). @SamPirok wanted to give feedback on it but sadly can't anymore. Could you give us an answer?

I can only say good luck @Nithisha and hope we can ALL be open, honest and authentic with each other regardless of who our gives us a paycheck (and the fear of losing it by being open, honest, etc).

Hello Olini and @SDK ,

We have received an update,

Based on the current product capabilities, the answer is - not at this time.

While we plan to introduce new configuration options in a future release that will provide full end-to-end fabric configuration support, this functionality is not currently available.

At present, fabric policies are not supported. However, you can configure individual devices to connect to an existing fabric core.
