I’m looking for a way to automate disabling and re-enabling PoE (inline power) on specific ports in EOS, ideally on a scheduled basis (e.g., nightly reboot of a connected device). I’m aware that commands like disable inline-power port X and enable inline-power port X can achieve this manually, but I’m trying to find a way to schedule this without relying on Ridgeline.
Is there a built-in scheduler or scripting capability within EOS that allows timed execution of such commands? Alternatively, would using an external script (SSH with cron or task scheduler) be the recommended approach?
In environments with multiple configurations (similar to managing options in a sonic menu), having flexible automation is really helpful. I’d appreciate any suggestions or best practices others have used for this scenario.
