Hello,
My client commonly sets up and reuses switches in stacks. Today we found one stack mac was duplicated in the network, used by two stacks. Our theory is that both stacks where preconfigured, and when moved on site, somebody took a switch from the wrong stack and created a 'mixed stack' mixing members that were configured on one stack to the other.
From the situation we brainstormed failure cases, like recently we replaced a master switch due to an issue that was fixed later, so we re-used that switch in another stack.
On top of that my client needs a lot of unattended configuration, so we try to minimize entering commands onsite. I was guessing if there is any guide, or best practices in these cases available.
I'm already aware about the stacking setup and switch replacement guides.
regards
