Showing DDMI optical values in X450e that's not supposed to work!

Hi!

I’ve come across a way to read the optical receive values in X450e switches, something Extreme has told us won’t work. The usual “show port 47 transceiver information detail” will only show the media type (SX/LX/...), vendor and perhaps some more details, but not the dB values.

IF, and this is important, if the SFP supports reporting DDMI/DMI values (optical transmit and receive levels), the X450e can actually read them with a debug command. The output is in micro watts (uW) and not in dB, so you need to convert those values in order to compare them to the normal dB readings you’re used to, but the values are there:

At last we can see the optical levels in the old X450e. Enjoy!
