Summit X450e-48p fans are dying

Hi,

One of our X450e-48p is getting louder and louder. It’s the sound of dying fans, ode of the fans is sounds if it’s only running from time to time. We’ve removed all dust, but no luck.

I know, they’re out of support/warranty now. Is there any chance to get some spare parts? Should I open a case?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

Micha

You’re out of luck with these in terms of opening a case as they’re out of service. I suggest measuring the fans and buy more efficient, silent fans for s few bucks and replace them on your own. It’s not very hard. I have an opened X450 (non-e) here and those fans are 40x40x10 mm (a standard size for fans) and have three wires, +, - and tach (telling the switch the speed of the fan). You should be able to buy a suitable replacement for the X450e. Note that those fans may have other dimensions as the one I have here is an X450.

If you’re in Sweden, I might even help you out personally with replacement fans  Send a PM if so.
