I have an ISW 8GBP prepped to be installed. I have Loop Protection enabled on all ports but the 4 SFP ports. I don't want want those to go down if a loop is plugged in somewhere else on the network or on this switch. I have a loop plugged into ports 1 and 2 but both ports are still active, and its not shutting down the port or logging it like the config is set to do. Am I missing something or will I need to use spanning tree? I'm normally used to setting up ELRP on the switches but that isn't an option for these switches.
