Syslog LLDP log messages state " unknown OUI's". Example : LLDP[1]LLDP unknown OUI 0x7f on port ge.1.28 received from MAC address aa-bb-cc-11-22-33". Is this generated by a lookup to a list of vendor OUI's or is it just the fact that something is wrong in the LLDP packet being sent by a particular vendor?
I understand that the work around is to lower the severity for the LLDP logging application to level 1 , but I am curious as to the exact process in checking the OUI's in the switches. Is there a MIB that can be manipulated to include said vendors OUI.
