7520 switch running vsp fails to connect to BT NTE

We have been running a migration successfully until we hit a snag recently.

I have a 7520 switch running VOSS 9.4.1 with a 1gig SX SFP installed.  We move a working BT NTE connection at 1gig from the Cisco to the Extreme (same SFP type and same cable) and the Extreme switch brings the interface up/up, however the NTE is orange indicating an error on its side.

We have tried the obvious, change polarity on cable, using nonegotiate etc, but to no effect.

The show pluggable-opticalmodules detail  indicates a good RX/TX signal level and doesn't show any thing out of the ordinary.

Has anybody else faced a similar issue?  And if so, what was the fix?

Hello,

Set speed and duplex manually on the Cisco switch.  (You will probably see that the speed on the Cisco is 2.5 gig when you have auto-negotiation)

Hello,

When an interface shows up/up locally on a VOSS switch yet the provider's Network Termination Equipment (NTE) indicates an error (orange/fault light), the physical layer (laser/fiber) is usually working, but a layer-1/framing or auto-negotiation mismatch is occurring between the Extreme SFP and the NTE transceiver.
