The issue is 802.11 not defining some corner cases in clients going into powersave mode. The attacker mus be authenticated on the wlan and can cause DoS or partial breach of few encrypted frames.
It is an insider threat and there might be worse issues than this one before one starts to address it, but still, it's a great piece of research coming from a very respected professional.
