10.2r4 firmware causing AP650's to lose connectivity?

Okay, I don’t know what’s happening here but this isn’t looking pretty. All of our AP650’s are losing connectivity multiple times throughout the day.

Look at this! Some AP’s will only do this once or twice and others are doing it often, like this ? There’s nothing indicating any type of error or issue. We didn’t have this problem on firmware 10.09rb.

I have a case open with GTAC, but are we the only ones seeing this issue?

@kevin.piazza yer GTAC suspected 11k and 11r in my test lab but I experience the same issues with it turned off. Overhead interesting, they told me its because there is no advantage in non 802.1X ? Apple recommends to turn it on (we are Apple only).

At all the customer sites things calmed down with old firmware atm we are using:

AP121 6.5.12.0 (6.5r12)

AP130 8.1.2.1 (8.1r2a)

AP305 10.1r1

AP410C 10.1r2

AP650 10.0r9b

These versions stopped as far as we can tell from customer feedback the random deauth of clients.

@a.huerzeler I was for a long time, however, GTAC instructed me to turn them off. They said, even though I have beefy AP’s, 802.11k, 802.11v, and 802.11r are not recommended to be used in a mixed environment. Overhead to benefit ratios aren’t sufficient, so I’ve had them off since last Thursday.

I’ve been syslogging 4 AP’s since Friday and none of them want to drop anyone now that I’m watching them. I want to say that at least 80% of all the teachers have now hardwired themselves because they don’t trust the WiFi.

10.3.1.0 was released and you’re still having issues!? 4e129b1d89e842a6bca90ff62a1f2625_1f621.png4e129b1d89e842a6bca90ff62a1f2625_1f631.png4e129b1d89e842a6bca90ff62a1f2625_1f62b.png4e129b1d89e842a6bca90ff62a1f2625_1f635.png

@kevin.piazza Hi Kevin, are you using 802.11k or 802.11r in your environments?

Little update from my side, updating to the newly released 10.3.1.0 (10.3r1) didnt change for the better in my test lab, still same issues. In contact with GTAC.

Thank you guys very much for getting all that data together for us. I’ve sent it all to the engineering team personally. No updates as of yet, but I will let you know as soon as I hear anything new.
