Hey everyone,
I’ve been researching different storage solutions for wireless network analytics and monitoring, and I’m particularly interested in how DAS storage fits into the picture. Since wireless networks generate large amounts of data from access points, controllers, and connected devices, an efficient storage system is essential for processing logs, metrics, and analytics data in real time.
From what I understand, DAS storage offers direct and high-speed access to data, making it a viable option for storing and analyzing network performance data. Compared to NAS and SAN, DAS eliminates network-related latency, which could be beneficial when handling time-sensitive logs and security events. However, I’m unsure whether it scales well for large-scale wireless deployments or if managing multiple DAS units would become complex over time.
I’m particularly curious about how Extreme Wireless controllers and access points interact with DAS. Can it efficiently store and retrieve logs for troubleshooting? Are there any performance concerns when using DAS for real-time network monitoring? Also, what are the best configurations or setups for ensuring DAS storage remains fast and reliable in a high-density wireless environment?
Any best practices or lessons learned would be greatly appreciated.
Looking forward to your thoughts! Thanks in advance.
