AP8432 dual 5GHZ radio.

I want to set radio 1 and radio 2 with 5Ghz on AP8432 but I cant do it.

Software version is 7.6.0.1.

In radio 1 I just have 2.4 or sensor options.
in radio 2 I just have 5ghz or sensor options.

How can I configure with radio 1 and 2 with 5ghz?

8432 has band-unlocked radios for Data or Dual-band 802.11 WIDS/WIPS and Location Service. So what you are seeing from the GUI is true, not an issue of 7.6.0.1 version.

For 8432:

Radio 1: 2.4Ghz or Sensor

Radio 2: 5Ghz or Sensor

Radio 3: Bluetooth Radio 

It is normal that you don’t see 3rd radio in radio settings because it is BLE radio. AP8533 has three wifi radios, 3rd one acting as a dedicated sensor, but not AP8432.

Looking at the data sheet it says that is possible to have 5Ghz on radio 1 as well. See below:

Internal Antenna
Radio 1: – 2.4GHz band: 30.2 dBm (1040 mW) – 5.2GHz band: 25.9 dBm (389 mW)
Radio 2: 5.2GHz band: 32.6dBm (1808 mW)
Radio 3: 13.7 dBm (23.4mW)

Also, if I go to the radio setting, I am able to see only 2 radios and not 3. 

Can it be related to the Version 7.6.0.1?

Hello Julio,

AP8432 does not support dual 5Ghz operation. So it is not possible to set both radios to 5Ghz. There are other AP models (11ax) that support dual 5Ghz if that’s a requirement.
