Products
800-Series, firmware 1.02.01.0011
08G20G4-48P
08H20G4-48P

Changes
Have connected one or more Power over Ethernet (PoE) clients.

Symptoms
Over time, any PoE usage is incorrectly seen by the switch to gradually but continually increase.
When per a '
code:
show poe system
' the perceived "
code:
Power Consumption
" nears the "
code:
Power Limit
" of 370 Watts (typically after 1-3 days), the power shedding feature disables PoE on higher-numbered ports.
A '
code:
show poe ports
' displays the true power consumption at all times.

Solution/Workaround
Upgrade to firmware 1.02.02.0005 or higher.
Release notes state, in the '
code:
Changes and Enhancements in 1.02.02.0005
' section:
code:
94
code:
Corrected a POE issue where a switch would fail to provide power while showing power consumption of 372W.

Pre-upgrade workaround: Rebooting the system will temporarily restore full PoE function.
