Products
G-Series; firmware 6.61.07.0010 through 6.61.11.0006
C5-Series; firmware 6.61.07.0010 through 6.61.11.0006, 6.71.01.0067 through 6.71.03.0025
C3-Series; firmware 6.61.07.0010 through 6.61.11.0006
B5-Series; firmware 6.61.07.0010 through 6.61.11.0006, 6.71.01.0067 through 6.71.03.0025

Changes
Inserted one or more SFP+ modules (e.g. 10GB-SR-SFPP, 10GB-LR-SFPP) into the system.

Symptoms
Upon system boot-up, for each such module an "
code:
Unsupported pluggable module
" message is written to syslog ('
code:
show support
', '
code:
show logging buffer
'); for example:
    <
    162
    >
    Sep 24 09:39:07 10.20.44.15-1 EDB[188769128]: edb_bxs.c(1935) 36 %% Unsupported pluggable module detected on tg.1.49
Cause
The system is issuing the message rather than waiting out a delay in local SFP+ information retrieval.

Solution/Workaround
For the G/C5/C3/B5, upgrade to firmware 6.61.12.0005 or higher.
Release notes state, in the '
code:
Changes and Enhancements in 6.61.12.0005
' section:
code:
18789
code:
Corrected an issue with recognition of 10GB-SR-SFPP transceivers.

For the C5/B5, upgrade to firmware 6.71.04.0004 or higher.
Release notes state, in the '
code:
Changes and Enhancements in 6.71.04.0004
' section:
code:
18789
code:
Corrected an issue where an errant log message "Unsupported pluggable module detected", is generated for an 10GB-SR-SFPP transceiver.

Pre-upgrade workaround:
Ignore this error message. The SFP+ module should function normally.
