Hi Sunil, thanks for trying those different ports out. This is a guide that reviews how to update firmware via TFTP:https://extremeportal.force.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000056869&q=update%20firmware%20tftp%20hiveos

For step 4, you will need a technical support engineer to enter the bootloader password. I’d recommend opening a case for that request. If you don’t have support currently, please let me know and we can explore other options.

It looks like the traffic isn’t able to make it past the AP, can you check the port the AP is connected to to make sure it’s configured correctly? If nothing jumps out at you, could you try using a different port for the AP, preferably one that a currently working AP is using?

Hi Sam,

As per your suggestions, i tired to tracert to default gateway (192.168.85.1) and global dns (8.8.8.8).

Below is the output for the same.

AH-a5e740#sh interface mgt0
Admin state=enabled; Operational state=up;
DHCP client=enabled;
Default IP subnet=192.168.0.0/255.255.0.0;
IP addr=192.168.85.12; Netmask=255.255.255.0; Default Gateway:192.168.85.1;
VLAN id=1;  Native vlan id=1;
MAC addr=885b:dda5:e740; MTU=1500;
Rx packets=   0; errors=0; dropped=0;
Tx packets=8734; errors=0; dropped=0;
Rx bytes=0 (0 B); Tx bytes=2863924 (2.731 MB);
AH-a5e740#

AH-a5e740#tracer
AH-a5e740#tracert 192.168.85.1

 1  *  192.168.85.12 (192.168.85.12)  2.003 ms !H  1997.196 ms !H

AH-a5e740#tracert 8.8.8.8
traceroute to 8.8.8.8 (8.8.8.8), 30 hops max, 38 byte packets
 1  192.168.85.12 (192.168.85.12)  2341.301 ms !H  *  1.897 ms !H

Kindly suggest how to fix this issue.

Hi Sunil, thank you for that output. It sounds like the device isn’t able to reach the internet at the moment. I would check the port it is connected to, to make sure the port is still functioning and has the correct traffic enabled. Otherwise I might suggest running a trace route to the gateway to see where the traffic drops. The command to run a trace route is “tracert <ip>”. So for example, if you wanted to run a trace route to the address 8.8.8.8, the command would be: tracert 8.8.8.8

Hope that helps!

Hi Sam,

Thanks for your suggestions.

Unfortunately im unable to access the WebGUI as suggested in the Article.

When i try to ping to Gateway also ping is unsuccessful.

I have shared you the few command result for your references.

Kindly suggest to fix this issue.

Hi Sunil, I’ve emailed you directly with instructions on how to get the firmware you’ll need and a guide that reviews how to update the APs without the ExtremeCloud IQ GUI. Please let me know if you have any questions.
