PoE control from Web

Hey everyone.  I am not at work or I would just test it but does anyone know if, when using the web controls, you disable a port on the switch that it completely stops power from going to that port or if it just does not allow traffic to go back and forth.  Wanting to know if disabling and re-enabling a port will completely reboot an AP.  Thanks!

Hello,

I assume that by Web you mean XMC and that you have an XOS switch. In this case the port is switched off but the power stays on the port and therefore the AP stays on.

To disable PoE and turn the AP off you have to use “disable inline-power port <port number>”. This command is not available on the GUI directly.

But you can run the command as cli command available via “right mouse to the device->Tasks->Cli Commands” in XMC.
