We have a customer preparing a migration of their virtualization infrastructure to VMware vSphere 9 and we are trying to understand the current support status and roadmap for Extreme virtual appliances.
Current deployment:
- XIQ Site Engine 23.11.12.3
- ExtremeAnalytics 23.11.12.3
- ExtremeControl (NAC) 23.11.12.3
- VE6120 Small 10.07.01.0029
After reviewing the currently available compatibility documentation, we can only find official support references up to VMware 8.
We understand that a platform can sometimes operate correctly before formal certification is published. However, we would like to know if anyone has information regarding:
- Official support status for VMware vSphere / ESXi 9.
- Any field experience running these appliances on VMware 9.
- Planned releases that will include VMware 9 certification.
- Public roadmap or ETA for updated compatibility matrices.
Any feedback from the community or Extreme employees would be greatly appreciated.
