Hi support team,
My team is working on integrating Aerohive AP into our presence analytics platform.
I'm having following questions relating to the authorization process when a guest visits the external captive portal:
1. Does Aerohive cloud send to our endpoint (through a re-direct setup) following parameters: UUID of network, MAC address of AP, MAC address of client device, name of AP?
2. Are there any documentation which would describe on how to retrieve above parameters or explanation about authorization process via external captive portals?
A sample documentation as described in this vendor's page is perfect for my team to escalate the AP integration with Aerohive: https://www.mist.com/documentation/external-guest-portal/
I appreciate your feedbacks.
Thank you,
Daniel

This configuration would guide client traffic to your CWP configuration. The Aerohive configuration does not include or restrict certain traffic from being transferred. Is there any step in the configuration of the CWP that includes details of the network equipment that is being integrated? Is there a subnet of devices that are allowed to communicate or a list of MAC addresses for example? What Encryption and Authentication methods are going to be used in the configuration?

Hi Stephen,
I didn't have a CWP configured yet. Our project is in "research" phase where I'm checking the possibilities of capturing data in the packet.
Is there a SSID's name included in the packet?
Would you share me an sample of content of packet?

Hello,
Standard packets will have the AP's MAC and the Client's MAC but the "Name of the AP" would not be included. The guide you provided appears to state that this would be configured on the Mist server but I am not certain about that platform. I do not have a Mist server or enough detail about the configuration to recreate this. Again, the only configuration adjustments that can be implemented are Login URL, Password Encryption and Authentication Method. Do you have the iBeacon Service configured?

Hi Stephen,
Thanks for the information.
So there is a "Client MAC address" in the packet - Do you mean that the packet should also consist of "Name of AP" and "MAC address of AP"?
Would you provide me an sample of content of packet?
Daniel.
