Can Aerohive APs act as Master and Slave ?

Can we implement the APs without connecting cloud, only using one AP as Master and others as slave ?

Our ATOM APs are able to pick up configuration from a portal AP when in Mesh mode, but otherwise we wouldn't have that capability. We are a controllerless system, so the APs can be disconnected from the HiveManager and still function perfectly, but they would need to connect to the HiveManager to get their configuration originally, and would need to connect for any updates (firmware or configuration wise).
