Hi,
We are seeing a pattern where a guest arrives and cannot connect because they never get the CWP window pop up to accept.
I have previously changed the default addresses of the CWP to non-conflicting private addresses.
Almost all of these cases the machine is wanting to do a Windows Update.
I suspect that the machine is at the system level making the first connection to the Internet and getting the CWP pop-up but because this is running as system it is not displayed to the User to accept.
Does anyone know if this is what happens ?
Is there a workaround or fix ?
I am running 8.4r11 on the APs and On Premise 19.5.1.7-NGVA Hivemanager.
Any assistance greatly appreciated !

That isn't something I've run in to before but your assessment sounds correct to me. There aren't any settings on the APs side that I can think of to help with this issue unless we can prove the CWP isn't trying to display the authentication page at all. If you open a browser, are you redirected to the CWP page?
