Cisco 8821 Cordless Phones and Aerohive Aps

Hi,

We are currently performing some testing with Wifi phones on the Aerohive Access Points.

The phones that are being used are Cisco 8821 and a Cisco 7925.

We have successfully been able to make calls using the Cisco 7925 phone with no issues at all, this phone uses the SCCP protocol. Whereas we are having issues with the Cisco 8821 phone, it is able to register with the Call Manager server and connects to the Wifi with no issues, but we are unable to make any calls using this phone, we just get an error message saying there is not enough bandwidth. But there would be, becuase there is only 2 clients on the network. This phone uses the SIP protocol, so i'm guessing this would be the issue?

Are there any settings in Hive Manager that we need to change to get this working?

This is our first implementation of Hive Manager so, we aren't too sure where to go from here.

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. We don't have any Access lists setup and the server is responding fine.

We are moving away from Cisco APs. When I tested the same phone with the exact same config, and on the exact same network with a Cisco AP it works fine. So not sure where the issue is.

I am going to open a support case. Thanks

That's odd; they are both UDP-based. So the only real difference on the transport side is the ports used. Do you have any access-lists either on the APs or on the switch ports? Do you know that the server can/is responding to SIP protocol? Are there any errors in the Call Manager server log?

These types of issues are difficult to troubleshoot in a forum setting, so my advice is to open a support case with Aerohive TAC.
