Client radio health 0?

Client radio health 0?

Pretty new to aerohive. I'm showing a handful of clients that bounce around showing poor overall health. When looking at them in hivemanager, it's always the radio health showing 0. These clients typically show good to excellent RSSI and high to very high SNR.

The clients also appear to have connectivity and good bandwidth when this happens.

I haven't been able to find much documentation on the radio health at all. Can someone explain what that value is representing, and bonus if you can explain to me why it would occasionally drop to 0 and how to resolve it.

Hello, the radio health is a score based on the RX rates, TX rates, success rates, and deployment goals if applicable. What all that means is this is a score of the Radio signal health. If you have clients with low radio health, you'd want to check for Radio Frequency (RF) interference.

More information on Radio Health and other client health scores can be found here: https://docs.aerohive.com/330000/docs/help/english/8.2r2/hm/full/Content/monitor/clients/activeClientD.htm

Some RF troubleshooting guides that might be helpful:

HiveManager (formerly NG)- https://thehivecommunity.aerohive.com/s/article/Radio-Frequency-Interference-NG

If you can get tech data while the issue is happening (I see you mentioned it drops randomly), and capture the MAC address of a client having the issue at the time, you could send that to ATAC for further investigation. If you have support, you could open a ticket. If you don't have support but want to look in to this further, please email the tech data and MAC address to me directly at communityhelp@aerohive.com.

Could you advise the Hivemanager Version and AP HiveOS Versions you are using?

Since the data isn't totally correlating with your experience, maybe an upgrade may be in order.
