Clients not getting to DHCP on some APs

Clients not getting to DHCP on some APs

I have a longstanding setup (~ 6 years) that has worked well in a small school environment. 8 APs (4x 121, 1x 370, 3x 130) and HiveManager Classic. Recently we started having clients (mostly Apple, MacBooks and iOS) connected to APs but not getting IPs from our DHCP server. They'd use self-assigned IPs. Moving down the hall and connecting to another AP would solve the issue.

We're on a single VLAN (10.10.10.0/24) with a DHCP scope of 10.10.10.30 - 10.10.10.250 which was close to full, so I changed to a /23 mask and DHCP of 10.10.10.30 - 10.10.11.230 and updated DHCP and all static IP addresses (servers, switches, printers and APs). I've tested and everthing I can think of is reachable from the extended IP block.

The problem is intermittent: there is one AP that frequently doesn't give out addresses but sometimes it does. Others fail less frequently, and others are stable. No pattern as to AP model as far as I can see.

5 years later, did you ever figure out the issue? Having a very similar issue in my network.
