I am in the process of planing for some outdoor deployments in the near future. The AP1130 seems to be the only outdoor rated access point in the Aerohive product range. Are there any plans to develop any other outdoor access points such as an AX unit like an outdoor version of the AP650?

 

Outdoor access points seem to be an area that other vendors are ahead of Aerohive in.

The 1130 is our newest outdoor Aerohive AP at the moment, however we just merged with Extreme Networks and they have a more extensive outdoor AP selection. For instance: https://www.extremenetworks.com/product/ap3917/

 

These devices will be compatible with ExtremeCloud IQ (formerly HiveManager NG) soon, so you can keep your current management platform and incorporate Extreme Networks equipment as well in the near future.

 

I don't know of any plans to develop an outdoor ax model, but I would encourage you to reach out to your sales engineer to see if they have any news, or if they can file a request for such a model.
