Hi Team,
I would like to upgrade my AP230 devices, HiveOS is 6.5r8b currently.
I know I can update devices through HiveManager.
However, I would like to get information how can I have backups before the upgrade.
Once it fails through HiveManager, the devices can not wake up. How can I recover or manually deal with this?
Thanks
Jesse

Thanks for your answer, Sam.
Just in case, I will upgrade APs one by one.

We can run backups for the HiveManager but we don't have backups for the APs per say. The AP does keep a record of the last HiveOS version it was on, and can revert back to that HiveOS if the update fails. For your AP, I would recommend resetting it to factory default settings to see if that get's it to come back up. After that, I would recommend enabling CAPWAP debugs, then trying the firmware update again, and if it fails we'd want to get tech data so we can review the logs to find the reason for the failure.
This guide reviews how to reset the device to factory default settings: https://thehivecommunity.aerohive.com/s/article/How-to-reset-a-device-to-factory-default-settings

And finally, this guide reviews how to get tech data from the AP CLI: https://thehivecommunity.aerohive.com/s/article/Collecting-Tech-Data-via-CLI
Once you have the tech data, if you'd like to send that directly to me for review, my email is communityhelp@aerohive.com.
