No extra steps needed, and you can jump to any later version without going step wise, so it should just be a few minutes down time while the AP reboots.

Thanks for the heads up @Sam Pirok . When I do upgrade to the 10.x line, are there any further steps I need to take coming from a 8.x line? I want to ensure there is as little downtime as possible.

Usually I'd recommend you go by that matrix, however I do want to mention that there is a known issue with the 10.x line that causes false interference alarms. If you want to stick with 8.2r5 for now, that would be perfectly fine. And logging in via cloud.aerohive.com does mean you're using HiveManager, or the Cloud version.

I login through cloud.aerohive.com so I assume I am using HM Cloud? Having said, according to the chart provided, it says the recommended firmware for AP130/AP550 is 10.0r7a however, my APs are running 8.2r5. This leads me to believe I need to download the 8.x firmware as opposed to 10.x
@Sam Pirok can you help me verify?
