Since we're a controllerless environment, all changes have to be pushed out to the devices before they are live, so your APs will need an update.

Thank you for letting me know. You should be able to set up syslog reporting by going to Configuration>Select the network policy> Edit Additional Settings> Management server settings>Syslog Server.
