Hello,
we use IP Firewall Policies on our aerohive AP's for traffic filtering (permit/deny based on protocol and source/dest IP) and traffic classification (top apps). We have another vendor for our switchs but we would like the same capabilities on all our outgoing traffic to our firewall/routers. if we put an aerohive switch between our lan and our firewall/routers, would we have the same reporting and firewall policies capabilities?
thanks

Thank you for clarifying, unfortunately our switches do not have that level of application detail currently, we would have to rely on the APs for that level of detail.

thanks for your quick response. We need top applications, top usage by clients ( including computers not connected directly to aerohive switch but connected to another vendor switchs interconnected with aerohive switch ) and IP firewall traffic filtering. No reporting sorry for misunderstanding.

The IP firewall policy is applied via a user profile, which we can apply to our access ports on our switches. However if you are using more than one VLAN, you'd need a trunk port, and those do not have user profiles applied. The switches won't have the same reporting capabilities as the APs do, but if you can let me know exactly what information you're looking for we can see if our switches provide that as well.
