We have alot of device's that can only use cretin channels on 5ghz, it would be nice to be able to define what channels it can use so we can let the AP decide which channels to be use so it is automatic if an AP is upgraded/replaced or moved.

Thank you both for your reply's. We use hive manager cloud. Brian, that is correct, i will try this out on one of our test AP's and see how it goes from there.
Ashley, I took a look, it seems that excluding channels from GUI is only available for the 2.4ghz radio and not the 5ghz radio. It would be nice to have that in GUI not only for ease of use but also it will let anyone that has to make changes to a config on the AP, they will more likely see it(if they didn't read the notes on in-house documentation) .
I will post back when i get a chance to test this. Thanks for your help!

Just to add to what Brian has said, to do this within the GUI of HiveManager NG you'd click on an AP through the monitor page > Interface Settings > Wireless Interfaces > Toggle "exclude channels" > tick channels you don't want the AP to use.
I believe that you can only do this on a per AP basis through the GUI, therefore you may wish to use supplemental CLI to do this in bulk if you have many APs.
Additionally, UNII3 channels (149-165) can be disabled through the radio profile.

So you need the AP to NOT select certain channels during ACSP and/or any channel switching? While not possible directly via the GUI of HM Classic, you can do a CLI Supplement to tell the AP(s) to blacklist channels.
You'd create the CLI Supplement object. Use the following command to exclude channels:
interface wifi1 radio channel exclude <channel number>
Repeat as necessary for any channels you do not want the AP(s) to use.
Edit one or multiple APs and down in the Optional settings and Advanced Settings you can apply the CLI Supplement to the APs. Push a complete config to the hardware and you should be set.
This is also possible via HM NG but I'm not as fluent with it to give direction.
