Issue with APs renewing it's IP address.

Issue with APs renewing it's IP address.

I have several AP 650's that I cannot keep online and I believe its due to an issue with it renew it's IP address. I've I power cycle the device, they typically get an IP and connect to hive manager. I've had to press the reset button on some, others I've had to reset to factory defaults. I actually thought I had the issue resolved. I lost over 300 APs Friday and got them all back online by Monday. By the end of the day yesterday 12 were offline again. This morning approximately 30 are down.

PCAPs I took during the boot process show the AP sending DHCP discoveries, not receiving replies, but getting an IP address, and connected to the hive manager. but it eventually loses its connection.

These are the only devices on our network that seem to have this issue. Laptops and IP phone don't seem to be having any issues.

I most of the APs are running 10.7a. Others are running 10.5.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'd still like to get a look at the packet capture so we can see where the IP was coming from.

After a deeper look it doesn’t appear to be a DHCP issue. The lease times are set to 30 minutes. The APs were up for 3 days before they started dumping again.

Could you send me the packet capture you took, along with the MAC address of the AP you used to test during the packet capture? My direct email is communityhelp@aerohive.com. I'd like to try to see where the IP comes from if it didn't come from the DHCP server. And can you tell me if the IP is in the correct subnet for your network or is it self assigned address?
