You'll want to make sure any firewalls or content filters are allowing TCP 22 and 443 outbound for updates to go through. Also you may want to try upgrading to the latest firmware via the web UI, and then trying the configuration update again. I've emailed you directly with the guide and the firmware file you would need for that process.
