Old AP 120

Old AP 120

I work with an MSP. One of our clients has sent us old APs they would like to work with their site. We do not deploy Aerohive but they have included two AP120. Can these be configured locally as Autonomous APs? Will they need HiveManager or other cloud managed utility? Will a license be needed?

It depends on what you want to do with the 120's. You do need some version of a manager to configure the APs. They have a free version of the manager, but it's limited. You can read about it here- https://thehivecommunity.aerohive.com/s/welcome-to-connect.

If you just want basic connectivity, Connect seems like the way to go. It doesn't have some of the more advanced, enterprise level features that Aerohive does, you'd have to upgrade (and then pay for an entitlement key) for those features.
