Optimizing Aerohive for Event Data Transfers

Hey, I’m setting up a network for an event where we’re customizing Pahare (glasses) in real-time. Using Aerohive to manage it, but struggling with network performance when multiple devices are connected.

Any tips on:

  1. Minimizing lag for live data transfer?
  2. Prioritizing traffic for engraving machines?
  3. Real-time data handling in event setups?

Appreciate any advice

I know windows will let you tag the traffic from an app (at least Bing found instructions). You need to tag that traffic as the highest priority and subsequently tag the other traffic as a lower priority. You did not say which way you wanted to shift the engraving machine traffic but it should be just the opposite if you want to lower it. If the traffic is being recognized by XIQ that should help you to be able to prioritize it over other traffic. If the traffic down to client is more important or vice versa then set the QOS higher so the AP will give that traffic priority on the AP. Remember that wireless is a shared media so the AP treats traffic the same no matter the direction. You need to make the highest priority traffic (say server to client) a higher QOS than the other direction (So client to server).

No, I have never done this myself but kinda grasp the concept of QOS and no one had answered. So thought I would give it a shot.
