Standard GRE Tunnel setup

Standard GRE Tunnel setup

Hi All,

I am using GRE tunnels for guest WiFi traffic. I currently have this working perfectly with the "Identity-Based Traffic Tunneling" sending all guest traffic through an AP330.

I would however like to replace the AP330 with an Ubuntu machine for better performance and scalability using the "Standard GRE Tunneling" option however I am struggling to get this working.

The documentation on this seems to be lacking somewhat from the built in Help menu on ExtremeCloudIQ. Does anyone have any helpful hints as to how this works or how they have it working?

Thank you in advance for any assistance,

Regards,

Brandon

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with Ubuntu's configuration, but hopefully someone else on our Community can assist you here.

Hi Sam, Thank you. The question is more how to set up the remote end to accept the GRE connection - Essentially the same question as asked here but with Ubuntu rather than Cisco: https://thehivecommunity.aerohive.com/s/question/0D50c000077DTmsCAG/standard-gre-configuration

You would set the tunnel IP the GRE tunnel is using in the User profile within your Network Policy. If you can let me know which HiveManager platform you're using, I can give you more specific instructions. This guide will walk you through how to determine which HiveManager you are using, for reference: https://thehivecommunity.aerohive.com/s/article/Which-HiveManager-Platform-am-I-using

Hi Sam, thank you for your response. I'm trying to figure out what settings are required on the Ubuntu machine to make the tunnel work. For example, what tunnel IP / Netmask the AP is trying to use
