Hi there,

i want to update our Hivemanager classic on premise from 8. to 8.2.

But during update it says insufficient disk space.

How can i free up space?

In VmWare vsphere the Hivemanager server has 65 GB but i cant see how much is allocated.

Thanks

Marius

Hi Marius,

Can you get some details from the HM console?

When you log on to the console, you should be presented with some numbered options. From there you should be able to find the allocated memory etc.

I believe our requirements are as per below:

VMWare Specifications Required:

HiveManager 64-bit Virtual Appliance

Recommended Minimum Hardware (1500 APs)

• Minimum processor: Dual Core 2 GHz or better

• Minimum memory: 8 GB total (4 GB dedicated to the VM, 4 GB dedicated to the database)

• Minimum disk: 256 GB 15K RPM SAS 6 GB

Kind Regards,

Gary Smith

Hi Marius,

Your reseller should be able to give you details on the new HiveManager platform. I believe that you could download the software and run a 30 day trial of it as well. Another option would be to try a 30 day trial in the cloud by registering here: https://www.aerohive.com/cloud-networking/

With regards to the disk space issue, backup and new install would work. You would just need to have the license keys reset by Aerohive via a support ticket.

I am in contact with our support provider. He suggest to make a backup, install new with much more space and do a restore.

I hoped there is a better way to solve this.

Is there a big difference between our Hivemanager classic and the new HiveManager?

Hi Marius,

I'm afraid that there is no easy way to do this and I would suggest that you work with your support provider to open a ticket with Aerohive support so that this can be looked at.

You might also like to take this opportunity to look at the new HiveManager platform.

Hi Gary,

thank you for your reply.

In option 1 Network settings and Tools - 11 System Diagnostic - 4 Storage usage tool it shows me the allocated memory

----------

Current Partition Size: 30G

Used: 21G

Available: 7.4G

Use%: 74%

--------

Ok, that is definitly to less.

Can i resize it? In VmWare i can put more storage space to the server. In Windows it is very easy to allocate this storage. But i am affraid that this is not possible in CentOs.

Regards

Marius
