We do not work with Hivemanager very often. Today we found out, that the appliance will not boot completely. One of the Tomcat servers is not starting. It's impossible to collect logs from console. What could be the reason for that and how can we debug/fix it?

Usually we use VMWares HA and/or vMotion. That's not possible with local storage. I monitored the latencies. The value for read was appr. 1ms and the one for write at maximum 22ms. Both values are not that bad.

3 of the 4 Tomcat services are up quickly. Only the 4th takes appr. 15 min. to get ready. During this time it eates up all the memory. What about that direction?

The most common cause of these kinds of issues is incorrect storage, so you'll want to confirm you have local SSD storage or equivalent. Past that we would need to collect logs via a technical support case to isolate the cause of your issue.

With my last test the appliance started after appr. 20 minutes. Result of very long network timeouts? Too less resources?

Thank you for that information. For the NFS store, could you confirm if that's local or network attached storage? We'd need local storage for the VA to operate properly. If you are using local storage, you'll likely need to open a support ticket to continue troubleshooting this issue, as we'll need to schedule a call to gather some specific logs.
