Doing two of the same things as the previous post; reducing 2.4 max power to encourage roaming, band steering for 5 GHz enabled clients. One other thing that is enabled by default now, but in the past was a manual configuration; disable lower data rates also promotes roaming and reduces sticky clients.

I read a long time ago to NOT enable load balancing in roaming environments as it may interfere with roaming as it tries not to place to much load on heavily utilized APs. I'll try to find the document that makes the claim.

I currently have 802.11r and 802.11k enabled, I also have auto channel and power enabled with max 15 for 2.4 and 17 for 5GHz making sure the APs are not too loud as most of my clients are handheld devices, I also have airtime based load balancing enabled, I also do not allow TX auth from AP if RX auth frame is less than 25dB.

I am also urging clients to connect to 5GHz and ignore 5 probes for 2.4GHz
