I tried upgrading it to different version with no avail ,
telnet@SE-LAB#sh version
System Mode: MLX
Chassis: NetIron 4-slot (Serial #: *******, Part #: *******)
NI-X-HSF Switch Fabric Module 1 (Serial #: ******, Part #: ****)
any way I can fix this identity crisis ?

No Iam not talking about the chassis mode ,
Iam talking about the chassis line it reads Netiron ,
01-09-2020 08:06 AM
Oh, do you mean the line with “System Mode: MLX”?
That is normal, when the system boots up with older linecards and management boards. If you run e.g. the -X line- and management cards only, it will print out “Sysetm Mode: XMR”.
Can you still send the output of show chassis ?
I am more concerned about the chassis line from the version command, it shall read MLXE-4 even in MLX mode. Can you pm me the serial # of the chassis?
01-08-2020 10:08 PM
Yea Iam very sure , it is hard printed on the chassis MLXe and it was working as MLXe before but now it reads MLX
the current version is 5.7e

Are you very sure, that this is a MLXe? Is there a red Brocade logo and a written “Brocade”-label or a white “Extreme”-label and a big white MLXe-4 label on the front?
What is the output of the show chassis command? It shall print out
*** MLXe 4-slot Chassis ***
Also which OS version are you running?
