Extreme SLX 9740-40C SSD replacement

Hi,

We have that router. One SSD shows reallocated sectors, I think it won't live long.

The disks are Transcend TS128GMTS950T. That model is not widely available anymore.

Is it possible to use other disks (we want to replace both)? Is there a size limitation or could the disks be replaced with the bigger ones (250 or 500GB)?

Regards,

Piotr

Yes, you can replace the disks with other M.2 2280 SATA III SSDs, and upgrading to larger sizes like 250GB or 500GB is generally supported as long as the router's operating system and physical slots accommodate them (the MTS950T series itself offers capacities up to 512GB). Just ensure you select M.2 SATA drives rather than NVMe, because M.2 NVMe drives will not work in a slot wired exclusively for SATA.
