SLX EVPN NoNeg meaning

I am configureing an ip Fabric using SLX’s as Spines and VDX, SLX, QFX(Juniper), and 7280R(Arista) as the leafs. I am seeing something which i am unsure of, when i look at the EVPN neighbors i see something that only relates to the Junipers and Aristas, it is a ‘NoNeg’ statement:

Neighbor Address  AS#         State     Time     Rt:Accepted Filtered Sent     ToSend
  10.0.0.1        4290000001  ESTAB   18h49m33s     1        0        9        0
  10.0.0.2        4290000002  ESTAB   18h49m31s     1        0        9        0
  10.0.0.3        4290000003  ESTAB   18h49m26s     1        0        9        0
  10.0.0.4        4290000004  ESTAB   18h49m26s     1        0        9        0
  10.0.0.5        4290000005  ESTAB   0h44m44s      0        0        0        9(NoNeg)
  10.0.0.6        4290000006  ESTAB   0h10m59s      0        0        0        9(NoNeg)
  10.0.0.7        4290000007  ESTAB   0h11m35s      0        0        0        9(NoNeg)
  10.0.0.8        4290000008  ESTAB   0h11m35s      0        0        0        9(NoNeg)

The Aristas and Junipers begin from 10.0.0.5 - 10.0.0.8  , i do not see this issue with the VDX and SLX.

Hello Michael, i tried clearing the neighbors both in the EVPN and IPv4 address family and i still see the same thing. These neighbors are correctly configured under the EVPN family tree, is there some log that i can see from the SLX as to why it is non-negotiating with non Extreme devices?

Edit:

When i do a “show bgp evpn summary” i do not see the NoNeg statement:

Neighbor Address  AS#         State     Time     Rt:Accepted Filtered Sent     ToSend
  10.0.0.1        4290000001  ESTAB   0h6m2s        0        0        0        0
  10.0.0.2        4290000002  ESTAB   0h5m50s       0        0        0        0
  10.0.0.3        4290000003  ESTAB   0h6m2s        0        0        0        0
  10.0.0.4        4290000004  ESTAB   0h5m31s       0        0        0        0

From what I can see internally regarding that message, it appears that No Negotiation is taking place.

Did you try “clear bgp evpn nei” against these particular neighbors?

Also, this can be due to a configuration issue.  Can you please verify that these neighbors/peer group are correctly activated under the evpn address family?
