Dear All,
We have 2x Extreme VDX 6740T are installed in same cabinet rack unit 37 (sw01) and rack unit 35 (sw02). But the temperature sensors and fan sensors value are extremely different. Do the switch have a fan speed control function to control the fan speed level?
sw01# show environment sensor
Rbridge-id: 201
sensor 1: (Temperature) is Ok, value is 43 C
sensor 2: (Temperature) is Ok, value is 47 C
sensor 3: (Fan ) is Ok,speed is 8113 RPM
sensor 4: (Fan ) is Ok,speed is 8277 RPM
sensor 5: (Fan ) is Ok,speed is 7957 RPM
sensor 6: (Fan ) is Ok,speed is 8033 RPM
sensor 7: (Fan ) is Ok,speed is 7809 RPM
sensor 8: (Power Supply) is Ok
sensor 9: (Power Supply) is Ok
sw02# show environment sensor
Rbridge-id: 202
sensor 1: (Temperature) is Ok, value is 34 C
sensor 2: (Temperature) is Ok, value is 37 C
sensor 3: (Fan ) is Ok,speed is 12353 RPM
sensor 4: (Fan ) is Ok,speed is 12537 RPM
sensor 5: (Fan ) is Ok,speed is 12537 RPM
sensor 6: (Fan ) is Ok,speed is 12537 RPM
sensor 7: (Fan ) is Ok,speed is 12353 RPM
sensor 8: (Power Supply) is Ok
sensor 9: (Power Supply) is Ok
Besides, may I know how to access the switch Lights-out management? I found this feature in Network OS Management Configuration Guide.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lights-out management (LOM) is the ability for a system administrator to monitor and manage servers by a LOM remote control program. A complete LOM system consists of a hardware component called the LOM module and a program that facilitates the continuous monitoring of variables such as microprocessor temperature and utilization. The program also allows for such remote operations as rebooting, shutdown, troubleshooting, alarm setting, fan-speed control, and operating system reinstallation.
Thank you.
Regards,
Chi

there are reverse and forward fans for vdx. you have both units with the same direction fans?
