vSLX limitations?

vSLX limitations?

Hi there,

We have around 10 x SLX 9540 switches in production running MPLS working as expected. I have built a similar topology using vSLX switches in Linux containers so we can replicate our production environment. I have the configs running and OSPF/BGP is exchanging routes, however I can’t seem to ping loopback interfaces within a L3VPN VRF. I have added a loopback on a couple of switches and placed it in a VRF just to test whether things are working as expected. Is this expected, i.e. does any data plane forwarding actually work on the vSLX for testing purposes? Or is it purely a Control Plane emulation?

Thanks,

Jon

hi Jon,

Yes, vSLX supports basic data plane functionality.  Please ensure you are using the latest version of vSLX as well.

Configuration and tested features are in the vSLX guide. See page 11 and 13.
