Hello,
I currently have a setup running on a Brocade VDX switch with firmware version 7.4.1c, which has been End of Support (EOS) since 2018. I need to upgrade a recently received RMA switch to match this version.
Since the firmware is no longer available on the Extreme Networks Downloads Portal, I would like to know if it's possible to download the firmware directly from one of the existing switches in my setup and then use it to upgrade the RMA switch.
I have WinSCP available for file transfer. Could someone please guide me on:
The directory path where the firmware image is stored on the switch.
How to download the file to PC.
Thank you for the support.
Regards,
Akshay

The only thing I have seen close to what you are proposing was possible on the old chassis (8770) switches with multiple Management Modules. When you insert a secondary MM, the primary will "firmware level" the new MM. Once that is done you can take the Secondary out and put it in a different switch. On 1U units this is not possible, you have to upgrade using a downloaded image.
