I don't have the original cable that comes with the switch and this may simply be the problem. Have tried a host of other cables trying to get a console connection to configure the switch - where can I purchase a cable that will work? If I get the right cable, I am assuming it should work? This seems very complicated for a simple configuration issue.

Thanks Ronald. I had found the pinouts previously but really didn't like the implication:
So basically I need to get some wire cutters, hack some existing cables apart, get my digital volt meter, and make one of these cables. The pinouts though aren't really clear so after spending a day messing with this I will need to spend another half day messing with building a cable. When my vendor should have just included a cable when they sent me all these switches. Yep, another  is in order.
